Joint project of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and Intego Group
In response to the rapid growth of the pharmaceutical industry and the field of clinical research, the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics invites students to join a unique certification program in biostatistics. The program is implemented jointly with an international IT consulting company Intego Group (USA), as well as with the support of the corporation Roche Holding AG and the company Experis.
This program has successfully existed for over 10 years and provides graduates with a powerful start for building a highly paid and promising international career.
About the profession and the program
Biostatistics combines medicine, mathematics, statistics, and science to apply statistical principles in clinical research. The daily work of a biostatistician helps explore new treatments and analyze clinical data, which has a global impact on healthcare development.
The goal of The Center for Biostatistical Programming is to train qualified programmers with deep knowledge of mathematical statistics and strong analytical skills, which are highly sought after by leading global pharmaceutical companies.
Who is this program for?
First and foremost, the program is aimed at full-time students who are transitioning to their final year of master's studies and have a strong mathematical background. Although the program was initially created only for students of our faculty, today it is open to talents from all over Ukraine.
Terms and format of study
- Cost: Training is completely free (fully sponsored by Intego Group).
- Duration: Two semesters (from mid-October to June).
- Workload: The program is intensive and requires dedicating at least 15-18 hours per week to study.
- Format: Classes are flexibly integrated into the university's academic schedule.
What is included in the curriculum?
The program offers a comprehensive approach to learning, covering all necessary aspects for future work in the field:
- Advanced methods of statistical analysis of clinical trial data.
- Clinical programming based on SAS®.
- Fundamentals of conducting clinical trials and the specifics of working with clinical data.
- Intensive English language study (most training materials are available only in English, it is also necessary for working in international teams).
Career prospects
Graduates of the program who successfully pass the final SAS® certification exam receive an invitation to paid internship at Intego Group. This is a unique chance to gain your first real commercial experience and establish yourself in one of the most prestigious industries in the world.
